About Us

Our Mission

We provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change.

Our Vision

We are the premier network of young professionals in Georgia.

Our Creed

We believe:
that faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life,
that the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations,
that economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise,
that government should be of laws rather than of men,
that earth's great treasure lies in human personality,
and that service to humanity is the best work of life

The Milledgeville Chapter of the Jaycees was re-established in 2014 after several years of dormancy. Our 20 plus members are passionate in serving our community. We have members who are on the State Jaycee Board, Camp Dream Board and even a Mrs. Middle Georgia on our team. We are living out the mission to empower young people and create positive changes within our community and statewide.

Chapter Highlights

Since re-establishment in 2014, we have been involved in several projects that have positively impacted our local community. A few of our favorite projects include:
  • Participating in the annual Night to Shine event hosted by Northridge Christian Church.
  • Our Boston Butt Fundraiser, which is usually held over Mother's Day Weekend.
  • Hosting Horses and Hula Hoops with the Camp Dream Foundation in order for our community to all come together and enjoy some fun in the sun.
  • Organizing our annual Splash & Dash that brings together the local community to float down the river.
  • Hosting our annual Charity Open Golf Tournament that brings many local business professionals together.
  • Our annual Thanksgiving Back that is both a donation-focused event, as well as a membership drive.

With all of our fundraisers and events, we have been able to donate time, money, and items to various organizations in Baldwin County. Some of our donations include:
  • Presenting Night To Shine participants a camp sponsorship to Camp Dream.
  • Using Boston Butt proceeds toward participation in the Central Georgia Technical College's Easter Egg Hunt and providing a bicycle to a lucky child.
  • Providing the Baldwin County Board of Education's Special Education Department with items such as a Light Tablet that will assist the visually impaired and the Better Building Magnetos that are a great sensory development tool.
  • Replenishing the shelves at our local soup kitchen after they took in Hurricane Irma evacuees.
  • Providing our Communities in Schools with personal hygiene items during the Back to School time.
  • Preparing Thanksgiving meals for our local Child and Family Guidance center which is the liaison between foster children and their biological families.
  • Making Sweet Cases for children in foster care in Baldwin County.

Other activities include hosting BINGO at the local nursing home, volunteering with Lockerly Arboretum, cooking food for the annual Pirate's Parade, and participating in local First Friday events.

All donations made to the Milledgeville Jaycees are put to use in the local Milledgeville and Baldwin County community. A few of the ways we spend our funds include:
  • Matching other donations for a specific cause (ie, restocking Cafe Central Soup Kitchen after Hurricane Irma)
  • Purchasing needed items for a local drive (ie, Baldwin County School Supply Drive)
  • Sponsoring children for Camp Dream
One of our favorite events is Thanksgiving Back, where we purchase around 100 duffel bags for children going into the local foster care system and fill each one with a coloring book, crayons, teddy bear, blanket, toothbrush, and toothpaste. Though some items are donated, we usually spend around $2,000 assembling the bags.
